Isotopic and Hydrochemical Characteristics of the Changqing-Xiaolipu Water Resource, Jinan, Eastern China: Implications for Water Resources in the Yellow River Basin

The Yellow River has played an indispensable role in supporting Chinese civilization because it provides water resources and rich soil for agriculture. This study analyzes the major ions isotopic ratios of hydrogen (δD), oxygen (δ18O), carbon (14C) groundwater samples to identify sources recharge impact on Changqing-Xiaolipu karst aquifer. ion/Cl− generally follow mixing line between southern mountain areas, indicating importance under natural influences Basin. dominant hydrochemical type is Ca·Mg-HCO3·SO4, whereas that Ca·Na·Mg-SO4·Cl. Most consists 10–30% water, Basin are supplemented by River. Therefore, must be considered during characterization chemistry budget
